Smoking policy
Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vapour devices, is forbidden inside all university buildings and within 20 feet of any building entrance, air intake or window. The policy applies to students, teachers, staff, guests and visitors. Students who break it are dealt with under the Student Code of Conduct, staff under the disciplinary policies, and guests may be asked to leave. The Office of the Vice-Chancellor administers the policy, and it is reviewed every five years.
Policy against sexual harassment
IUBAT does not tolerate sexual harassment of students, teachers or staff. The policy covers unwelcome advances, comments, stalking, bullying and abuse of any kind, on campus and on university buses. A Sexual Harassment Complaint Committee hears complaints. Retaliation against anyone who complains or helps an investigation is not tolerated, and privacy is protected as far as the law allows.
Grievance redress
Anyone aggrieved by the act of a student or a member of staff, including abuse, intimidation, bullying, discrimination or damage to property, can file a complaint in person or by email to registrar@iubat.edu, followed by a signed copy to the Registrar. Sexual-harassment complaints go to the Sexual Harassment Complaint Committee, student cases to the Proctorial Committee, and staff cases to the Disciplinary Committee.
