1. Qualification :
a) All grades calculation is to be aligned to IUBAT grading policy to determine scores
b) The qualifications and other requirements are subject to change and may vary from post to post and from person to person based on the decision of the authority for greater interest of the University.
c) Exemptions and flexibilities may be allowed in terms of non-attainable academic qualifications and (Class/ Divisions), age limits and/or teaching experience for faculty members already in service in IUBAT.
d). Equivalence of degree obtained from different universities shall be decided by the concerned authority constituted for the purpose of recruitment

2. Publications:
a) i) Publications in recognized and refereed journals/ transactions / proceedings will be counted
ii) Publications in other proceedings of major national and international conferences and seminars may also be counted. However; in that case the credit will be 50 percent.
iii) Text books written for undergraduate /Post-graduate level may be considered as publications
iv) Research monographs, patents and contributions in standard published books may also be considered as publications
b) In case of joint authorship only 1st and 2nd will get full credit. Credit of subsequent authors shall be shared equally on the basis of number of authors) eg1/number of authors)
c) In case of joint authorship of a paper published on the basis of Practicum /Masters/PhD Thesis the first three authors will get full credit where the works were supervised by a supervisor and a co-Supervisor

l3. Service length/Professional Experience :
a) Time spent on full time professional job or in teaching in degree level in recognized University/ Institution; service only in relevant discipline will be counted as professional experience.
b) Time spent by internal candidate in deputation/study leave (up to a maximum of 5 years)
c) In general the part time teaching or part time experience will not be counted in calculating the length of service. However, the part time service in IUBAT may be considered in calculating the length of service
d) Teaching experience at any reputable University /Institution of higher learning shall be recognized. In calculating the length of active teaching experience, the time spent on higher studies, sabbatical leave and extra –ordinary leave (during which the person was not pursuing full time teaching at any reputable University /Institution) will not be recognized.
e) Supervision of Research Works for appointment to Professorial ranks for appointment as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor, experience of supervision of research works, and post graduate thesis shall be considered as additional qualifications.
4. Any clause, sub rule or academic requirement may be modified by the competent authority of the university at their discretion.
5. It is to be noted that all recruitments in the CAS will be at doctoral level and above. This is also the aspiration for all colleges of the university.
6. It is to be noted that all recruitments in the CBA will be with a Masters degree in business from abroad, preferably from North America or Europe, with preference for PhD. The Masters degree from abroad is also the aspiration for all colleges other then CAS.

Qualifications and Experience required for Recruitment and Promotion in Teaching Positions

Notes:

1. a) In the case of Public Health, professional experience may be adjusted with the teaching experience requirement.
   b) In case of engineering departments, bachelor degree may be considered if Master’s is not available.
2. Degrees and CGPA will be accepted based on reputation of the university.
3. Publications and years of experience may be interchanged as follows: every 2 publications = 1 years’ teaching experience
4. Preferences will be given to candidates with higher qualifications, longer teaching experience, number and quality of publications, academic performance (CGPA, distinction, award), experience in co-and- extracurricular activities, leadership
5. Conditions may be relaxed for Semester Faculty members, faculty on contract and other types of appointment.
6. All appointments in teaching positions will be treated as independent appointments but service continuity will be retained in case of IUBAT faculty.
7. For promotion, candidate must have satisfactory Faculty Assessment Report (FAR) in case of IUBAT.
8. For candidates external to IUBAT, satisfactory performance reports from two referees are required.

1. Publications :
   1. Publications only in recognized and refereed journals will be counted. Preference will be given to indexed journals like Copernicus and Scopus.
   2. Publications in refereed proceedings of major national and international conferences and seminars may also be counted.
   3. Impact ( citation) of publications will be given additional points
   4. Books written in the relevant field for Undergraduate/Postgraduate levels will be considered as publications.
   5. Research monographs, Patents and contributions in standard published books may be considered as publications.
   6. Outstanding design works (judged by internal and external experts) carried out officially will be considered as publications

1. Teaching experience:

Teaching experience in a position of lecturer and above in the relevant discipline at the IUBAT or at any reputed University/Institution of higher learning at graduate/undergraduate level shall be recognized as Teaching Experience. In calculating the length of Teaching Experience, time spent on deputation to a non-teaching post, leave without pay (extra-ordinary leave) during which the person was not pursuing full time teaching at University level will not be counted.

Service experience:

Length of Service experience will include 100% of teaching and 50% of professional experience. Half of the time spent on Study Leave (for study purposes to attain higher degrees) will be added in calculating the length of service experience (not as Teaching Experience). Time spent for study purposes will refer to the actual duration of the higher degree program, subject to a maximum of 2 (two) years for Master Degree program and 5 (five) years for Ph.D Program. Period of part time teaching or part time experience will not be counted in calculating the length of service experience.
